Izza's Tea Party
Watercolor on paper, pen and ink, and Photoshop, 14 illustrations, 2020, written by Hashmat Effendi
I was commissioned to create a series of illustrations for an instructional children’s book to teach kids to be careful around hot liquids in the home to prevent burns. The book is written by Hashmat Effendi and is due to be published by the end of 2020.
House of Charity
Latex and acrylic on drywall, 8' x 65', 2020, made in collaboration with Michael H. Miller
The House of Charity (est. 1997) is a non-profit organization in Houston, Texas that provides medical and surgical care along with fire safety and burn prevention education to children in Houston and around the globe. Working with my fellow UH graduate painting student, Michael H. Miller, we were commissioned in the summer of 2020 to create a large, colorful, panoramic landscape of the state of Texas. This mural sits in one of the car port of one of their duplex units where children will come to play as they await reconstructive treatment in the city of Houston.
